Meissen Cobalt Trembleuse Cup and Saucer
This rare signed meissen(pre 1860) Trembleuse cobalt cup and sauce is absolutely beautiful. It does have an old professional restoration on one of the cup's handle. It looks like a thin metal strip applied to secure the handle to the cup. The repair is extremely well done and hardly noticeable. We also noticed some small damage to the flower finial and one green leaf on the the top cover. Both of these issues are noted in the photos for you to view. The cup measures 4 1/2" tall and the saucer measures 5 3/4" in diameter. It has a first quality mark and the quality is super. The saucer has a reticulated raised gallery as you can see. The pieces have a deep cobalt ground color and a lace gilding trim through out. The cup has two magnificent courting scene as only Meissen can produce. The gold gilding and the hand painting are in mint condition. This rare piece has been well cared for!
